Is one closer to the finish line
But it's getting harder
To move forward every time.
It used to be a breeze
To tell everyone you feel okay
But it's not so easy
When you lose a year in a day.
And it's not
As if you're asking
For a whole lot
To get your through
You speak the words
And hope they're listening
As time passes by.
You see your golden chance
To break free from the chains that bind
But you're gonna need
All the good will you can find.
You form the words it takes
To tell everyone just what you need
But it takes a strong hand
To till the earth and plant the seed.
And it's not
As if you're begging
For the whole world
To ease the pain
You state your case
And pray the words come out right
As time passes by.

It's hard enough
